"America becomes stronger when all people are allowed to participate on a level playing field. The incoming administration's plan for this ailing economy appears to include initiatives that gain ground lost over the last eight years and invites all people to share both in the struggle toward stability and the promise of prosperity.
"Jobs, health care and housing — the triangle of stability for any family — are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. In his speech today, President-elect Obama showed a nuanced understanding of just how critical the connections among jobs, health care and housing are to our country's well-being. The Task Force and LGBT community will continue to work with this next administration to advance policies that take into account the unique issues faced by LGBT people, and to ensure our lives and families are not left behind."
