Achieving full freedom and liberation for LGBTQ people requires a democracy that works.

Currently, the administration is weakening efforts to count LGBTQ and other historically undercounted groups in the Census. At the same time, conservative state leaders are using voter suppression tactics and gerrymandered districts to keep certain groups from exercising their constitutionally protected right to vote.

Whether it is at the federal, state or local level, winning LGBTQ-friendly policies requires decision makers who are willing to act favorably on pro-LGBTQ issues. We need our entire community engaged in the democratic process to secure the outcomes that work for us and not against us.
